throw dinner parties

I threw a very fun single’s Valentine’s party. I served chicken pot pies, homemade Mac and Cheese and a warm beet salad with spinach and feta. I had a great time the week ahead making decorations with some new friends. 14 people attended in all, all of them people that I’ve met this past month through dancing classes and Spanish Classes. Overall it was a great success.

I just moved to a new town so meeting enough people to have a large dinner party isn’t plausible yet. I am thinking one or two people to start will be nice.

Threw a cool Halloween party last night. Best part is that I have leftover liquor for the next party, and this was a great ‘run’ for the next one. Of course some people couldn’t make it, so having a party every couple of months or so will bring a nice mix of people together. It’s amazing the conversations that come up and can be sustained amongst people of different ages/backgrounds. I was impressed.
Still have some more work to do in my apartment (need more seating…my slumlord owes me a closet and some other serious work) but I was really happy with how everything came off. Next up is a cereal party (everyone brings a box of cereal – I’ll supply the Count Chocula, juice, coffee, spiked coffee, eggs, facon, and bacon).
