Somehow, I would like to get rid of my sniffles and sneezes naturally. A coworker the other day explained to me that I could be sniffle-free if I would just take a large dose of Vitamin C and Benadryl each night before I go to bed. That is great and wonderful except that I don’t want to be dependant on something like Benadryl or Claratin for the rest of my life, every day. I’d rather figure out what is the cause of my allergies and solve that so that I can be both sniffle-free and medicine-free. I hope to not fall into the trap of the “easy fix” which is treating the symptoms (at least not often), but have the long-term goal of treating the causes.

So I started taking allergy shots once a week about two years ago, one in each arm every single week. My insurance got screwed up for a few months at one point so I had to start ALL OVER AGAIN. Hopefully, it will only be a couple more years now. I’m so used to needles now though. The doctor tests you, sometimes on your back, which they did with me and found out I was allergic to EVERYTHING. The shots are comprised of allergens that affect you so that you slowly build up immunity tolerance.

My best friend/boss got rid of her allergies using a process called N.A.E.T. While it’s going to be a pain in the butt to have my parents allow and facilitate this for me, I’m still going to try.
