How to quit drinking for one month
How I did it: I started on September, 1 to make it an easy count and I was challenged by many job dates where I normally had to drink some wine or beer. But everybody accepted that I didn't drink this month and was nearly envy of my decision and strictness.
Lessons & tips: I can recommend to make it clear to everybody that you didn't drink that month. Don't play any games and pretend that you better like to have another drink, because... blablabla... Be honest and you will get so much respect for your decision!

It’s been 19 days, so far so good. The only temptation days are weekends, but on Fri. and Sat. I’ve just been finding other things to do.
I have a x-mas party to go to tomorrow night. I’ll volunteer to be the designated driver!
I will be able to drink again starting around x-mas. My goal then is to just try to drink responsibly, be an adult about it. I like idea of quitting entirely for one month a year so I probably will again in 2008.
i’ve done this once a year for the last 3 or 4 years. it’s great in that your emotions calm down, you lose weight, you gain cash, you have lots of time to read and take in culture – but you wind up feeling tense and socially frustrated. still, for one month a year, it sure cleans you out.
