So i went through the wonderful organization CHINA HORIZONS. they helped me through the whole process, from deciding what age i wanted to teach, to arranging everything with my school, getting plane tickets, and so on. they took great care of me, and still check in to make sure i’m alright. I’m teaching now at a university in LINYI, China. and it’s the most amazing thing i’ve ever done! i’m learning so much and having such an amazing time!

Not only do I want to teach English, which I feel can also improve basic grammar skills, but I want to have a better grasp on Mandarin. This goal is one that I plan to complete after I graduate, but I’m so ready for it.

yes, i am going! it is official! I still need to get my plane ticket and visa, and i still don’t know in what CITY i’ll be teaching, but at least i got accepted! (i’m going with china horizons). my family is kinda freaking out. “is china safe?” they wonder. i’m not worried. but then, for the past few years i NEVER worry. it’s a waste, i think. but i’m very excited!!!! now i just need to start getting lesson plans together for the little buggers! anybody got a good “learning chinese” resource?

I’ve been teaching English in Guiyang city, South China for the past two and a half months. Primarily doing it for the money as I need an income over here, but also an interesting experience.

I think that teaching in China would be the best cultural experience. I am studying a double degree in English and Education at the moment. But before I start teaching at High school’s in Australia, I definately want to experience teaching in China. I have relatives and a couple of friends that are going over this year, and I am extremely jealous!
Is the rate of pay good over there?
Haven’t heard much about that part of it.
This is a very good goal indeed!

I taught in a middle school for a semester. I just got back two weeks ago. It was the best thing I’ve ever done, and I’m planning on going back to teach at a college next year.
