If you want to help out with some campaigning for Obama in Atlanta I am your girl (well me and about a million other people in Atl that could help you as well)
How to volunteer for a political campaign
How I did it: I volunteered for the Minnesota DFL (Democratic-Farmer-Laborer) party. My volunteering involved cold-calling people and knocking on doors. Two things I do NOT like doing. It was a good cause, no doubt, but it made me way too nervous.
People doing this are also doing these things:

I start volunteering for the Obama campaign tomorrow!! I am so excited. I have so much to learn.
Nita Chaudhry told me in an email. And I’ve got guidance too from John Podesta, who my father tells me is a fellow Knox graduate.
“Thanks so much for stepping up and making calls today—-each call you make goes a long way towards winning back Congress.
We know there’s lots of hang ups and answering machines, but with so many of us calling, it really adds up. We’ve already made more than a million calls to voters, and many of these districts will be won or lost by just a few thousand votes.
So, this is your official thank you card, :-) Thanks!”

“On Tuesday, millions of Americans will head to the polls in an extraordinary demonstration of what democracy looks like. From selecting your local school board and city council to your Governor and Members of Congress, you have an opportunity to make your voice heard on issues you care about and to support leaders who share your vision for America’s future.
Elections are about choices — choosing who will represent you in the thousands of decisions our leaders make on a daily basis. Like me, I suspect you care deeply about national security, energy security, health care, political corruption, the environment, education, and more. The choices you make on November 7th will reflect these issues. While I won’t ask you to vote for any particular candidate, I will ask you to think carefully about your choice and consider which candidates will help your hometown and our country become great again.
Please Vote on Nov. 7th — Find your polling place
Once you’ve made a commitment to vote, I hope that you will join me in strengthening our democracy by doing more. There are many different ways you can participate and help ensure that the voices of more than 100 million American voters are heard.
I’d like to highlight one group, America Votes, that is making a difference by talking to millions of Americans about important issues. America Votes is the coalition leader for the largest grassroots mobilization organization in our country, and today I am asking you to help America Votes by volunteering to talk to your neighbors about the issues that matter to you and how important it is to vote.
Volunteer with America Votes
Thanks again for your support and your energy. Together we are bringing about a strong, just, and free America that ensures opportunity for all.”
