well done everyone!!! 10 months ago

My last cigarette was 37 days ago and I’m loving it! I do occasionally think about having a cigarette, but I change my thoughts, I go ‘bleugh, bleugh’ and imagine that disgusting first taste in my mouth. I never want to taste that again….

17Apr09 – Okee dokee….it’s now just over 4 months and still not even one cigarette. I’ve even been drinking with mates when all of them have been and still nothing! Yay me!!How’s everyone else going??

04Jun09 – Still all good. I think I have forgotten I was ever a smoker! happy days, and fingers crossed!

Its been a week since my last cigarette and I don’t want to start back again. Its a waste of money and bad for my health. My parents were smokers and we all quit together. We’ve tried this before and it didn’t work… we all seriously want it to work this time.

Not a Puff 17 months ago

I remember writing about that night when I stopped smoking. That bus ride from Uganda to Kenya killed every urge to smoke. Let me say I knew it was coming because I’ve been doing the online “processing” trying to find out what triggers my smoking. I just didn’t expect it was that fast. I just realized lighting a cigarette is not worth all the hassles.

July 2 2006, that’s the date I stopped smoking, I never lit a cigarette since.

Fantastic 19 months ago

It’s been 417 days since my last cigarette so I’m feeling pretty confident (although I know that it only takes one!). Nicotine patches, sunflower seeds, and constant visits to my club at www.quitnet.com were the keys to my success. Accomplishing this goal has been awesome!

Be good to myself 22 months ago

I found this wonderful technique of pranayama — very simple breathing exercises which finally helped me quit smoking. In fact I did not start pranayama because I wanted to quit smoking, I just started it to stay healthy. But the day I started it I realised that after having breathed in such pure air I could ill afford to pollute it with smoke.. On October 29th last year I quit on an impulse. But I continued pranayama. Not for a moment after that did I have the urge to buy a cigarette. Not even at places which constantly reminded me of my smoking days.(I used to smoke more than 20 cigarettes a day.) Not when I have been stressed out, not when I have been very lonely … Not even when I have had nothing to do .. I feel a lot healthier now. It has been exactly 79 days since I have quit. I know I will never ever smoke again. I feel better about my mental strength. I think I have to continue to be good to myself …

200 day anniversary 2 years ago

Just two days ago I had my 200 day anniversary from quitting. I’ve never felt better and it’s affected my life positively in many, many different ways.

Hip hip hooray for me!

I can’t wait until I reach 1 full year of being smoke-free!

My First Anniversary 4 years ago

I quit smoking for one year now. According to Quit Meter, I would have smoked 7,300 cigarettes and spent $1,824.50 if I hadn’t quit. Those values are relatively trivial to me. The one thing that makes me happy is that I got rid of my smoker’s cough and was able to keep my promise.
