So far I have painted, new counters, new sink/faucet. Need to finish putting down trim work.

My kitchen has been unfinished for 4 years and I am sick of it. It HAS to get finished, I simply can’t start yet another room until I have finished this one off. I have so many ongoing DIY projects nothing gets done
So here is the list of everything that is needed to complete it
1. Fill the coving
2. Sand and paint the ceiling
3. Buy a light fitting
4. Fit the light fitting
5. Grout the rest of the tiles
6. Fit all the plug sockets
7. Fit the light switches
8. Skim the feature wall
9. Paper the feature wall
10. Paint all the woodwork
11. Buy a bin that works in the space
12. Sand the floor
13. Re stain the floor
14. Varnish the floor
Really it’s all the little niggly things that need to be done now – I just have to crack on and do them.
Watch this space people :)
Completing the remodel of my kitchen requires stuff that isn’t on the punch list: I need to
- select & order glass for cabinet frames
- get refrigerator installed correctly
- order more sealant & color stick for floor
- get island bookshelf adjusted
- attach an eating area to island
- get the kitchen painted
- select and install something for patio doors
- finish installing the hardware
My goal is to have this done by the end of the year (along with a lot of other house-related projects).
Sunday: I made it to Lowes today with the intention of finding those lost tiles. Three people and 45 minutes later, we discovered that my number had been changed in the computer. The Manager reordered the tiles, had them shipped to my house, and refunded $50. All around, a good expereience. They’ll be here in 7 days.
Next step: Measure the remaining part of the backsplash. Find tiles (visit outlet) and buy. To be completed during exam week next week.
As if right on time, the receipt that I had been searching for, which I need to take to Lowes to claim the tiles they never returned to me (six months ago), showed up out of nowhere. I found it in an old billfold while looking for medical receipts. Wow!
First step is to tile the backsplash. I will hit Lowes tomorrow and find out where my missing tiles are.
Then I will call and set up an appointment with a tiler.
Started in May of 2006, the last few things have dragged on now for over a year. Left to finish are the following:
Backsplash – buy tiles, have installed
caulking
paint back wall
over sink lighting
Okay… so I have installed and plumbed in the kitchen and it works, lighting is still a single bulb and the floor is bare concrete!
I am such a lazy shit but christmas came and I lost all motivation. It looks half decent.
SOMEONE MOTIVATE ME PLEASE!
