How I did it: Booked Perurail tickets to Aguas Calientes, stayed the night, then went up early in the morning and arrived when it was still foggy and starting to get light. Read how I did it…

I booked my flights to Cuzco today, getting all the info for the hotel down now. I’m so excited that this is actually going to happen.
I want to visit the Aztec ruins of Machu Picchu in Peru. The Aztecs are credited with many common discoveries we use or do every day. How fascinating it would be to learn more about their culture.
I’m due backdated money from work, not only have I been on emergency tax since i started (over 6 months ago) but I’m due overtime and holiday. I spoke to Laura in N.Z. and she also wants to go to Peru and Bolivia. Bolivia not on my list, but if you’re in South America you might as well see another part of it.
I hope to persuade some friends to come, more the merrier (well lets say 6 max) :-)
This place looks amazing in pictures. I can only imagine just how beautiful this would be in person. I want to travel everywhere but this place definitely is at the top of my list.

I did some research for this last year and sent for a couple of brochures. the one that sounds best is a 10 days starting and ending in Lima, including a 4 day treck along the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu. It also appeals because I get to avoid most of the tourists who want to see the ruins.
It’s also important to me that I can speak Spanish when in Peru.
WorkingOnSomeDreams has a lot of work to do.
I did this in May ‘07. I put it here even though I’m “new” to 43things (kinda-sorta). In any event, it’s a reminder of what I’ve managed to do in my life.
Fábio Rosenkrantz is anxious and neurotic. More than the usual!
I’m actually doing this next February 10th, 2008, after fullfilling some other dreams, amongst which are visitng Peru and meeting some great artists at a Magician’s Convention.
Not to mention that I’m going to get married at this fabulous location :^)
