live in NYC for a year

I don’t have the desire to live in the city anymore

meh, i dont really like it, but i can definitely see how it’s an experience. really, i guess it’s just about living in a major city, period. paying ridiculous rent, living in an enormous apartment building, not having a car, etc etc. I’ll hate it, but i’d like to try it out for a year.

Things seem to be going better. I am enjoying the city much more then when I first moved here. Would love to meet someone relationship oriented though… They all want the same thing… To do the deed on the first night… I’m no two dollar ho!

i’ve lived in a rural setting all of my life. (though now thanks to urban sprawl, it’s recently become more suburban.) while i don’t regret this, i feel that it has limited my perspective. i want to live in a big city to gain another point of view of the manner in which people live and the different cultures associated with different living environments. and new york seems to me to be the quintessential city.

living in Murray Hill. I’m posting this the day after the steam pipe explosion. This probably wasn’t the best idea… Homesick, and not terribly happy…

i moved to nyc for a year, i thought, but liked it so much i stayed for 10 years. the people are great, and there’s so much to explore. but the best thing is that in new york you are free to follow your dreams. if you are thinking of going, i encourage you to try it out. you never know!!!

p.s. i’m in ireland now, for 6 months… who knows what this will turn into!!???

Let me tell you: It’s not worth it.

The pollution is horrible. People are quite mean. You could be missing a limb and nobody would help you. Granted, there are a few nice people (look in recent news, a man saved a boy who had a seizure and fell into the train tracks)

The Transit System sucks. Traffic is HORRIBLE. Everything is overly expensive. If you even look a little weak, someone will mess with you.

Trust me. You don’t want to do it.

THis would be an amazing unforgetable experiance. I visted New York at the start of this year and loved it. Hopefully i can be like a worm and live in the big apple.
