The family on Kellogg St. whose father was an artist, whose mother was a secretary to a lawyer downtown. That lady lent me The Chronicles of Narnia, when I was their paperboy.

The man who had the A- frame house who was Croatian. I broke his window once, delivering the paper. Then he forgave me.

It’s always so hard to remember each individual person I meet. The ones that matter – the ones whose lives have touched my own and left a mark – will never be forgotten. Much like music ties to memory, a few simple words are often more than enough to make a person look back and salute.
