Ivymere continually searches for her ground, her sky, and herself
I am still doing my swim workouts (but only 3x a wee now)...
I hope to take up running once a week starting in December (mostly because I left my sneakers at my parents’ house and I need to wait for them since I can’t afford new ones).
I bought a nutrition book at a used book sale and it’s great. Super easy to read and it has a lot of good advice for well-rounded nutrients of all kinds and suggestions of how we can achieve daily requisites.
Good luck, everyone!

that I need a “bite guard”, according to my dentist. The good news is that it’s 80% covered by my dental plan. Bad news is that I don’t really have the $60 that covers my portion.
I guess I could use all those $2 coins I’ve been putting in my piggy bank over the past year! But that was my last-resort-when-I-really-run-out-of-money money. I am getting pretty close to that point. Hopefully I get some tutoring work soon.
The other good news is that I don’t have any cavities :-)

the new Community recreation centre is supposed to open – it’s only 6 blocks from where I live :-) I can’t wait!

a couple days ago, now my shoulders and wrist are sore. I should have played for less time, then I could play more often :-(

Over the summer, I took a break from school and went home…and took advantage of the free pools. So I ended up swimming 5-6 times a week. That was really good and helped my mood a LOT. My weight came down a little, which made my doctor happy, though he wants me to lose 5 more pounds (a lot harder than it sounds).
I also successfully managed to avoid having more than a pint of ice cream per month (I used to chow that stuff down pint per week). That’s a definite plus, and I’ve been looking into recipes that involve no butter (because I have cholesterol issues). I’m trying a lot harder but I still slip up a LOT.

need my yoga goal back. I think it’s time.
Plus when I was tidying up my piles of stuff, I found my pilates DVD and also my yoga DVD (I forgot that I had one!!)

in this infernal P.E. class. It’s probably not chronic.
I hadn’t realized how much running around, leaping, hopping, twisting, jumping, evading and dodging would be involved in this 12-hour-a-week course. I guess I should have prepared by getting better gym shoes, but time and money are always a factor.
If it’s still feeling odd by Monday I will go see the doc.
Now that my P.E. class is finished, I need to find a new way to exercise, so I think it might be time for another semi-annual pedometer challenge!
Now where is Miss Mopsy, my pedometer buddy?

My dad always used to tell me, “Your body is your temple, and you must treat it as such.”

As part of (the end of!!!) my teacher training, I am taking this intensive PE course.
It’s supposed to be “how to teach PE”, and I guess it is, but it is also pretty much like BOOT CAMP _ for a “slow mover” like me at least_.
It’s Go! Go! Go! for 2.5 hours straight, Monday through Friday. (And then there’s homework to do too!) Luckily it’s only for the next 3 weeks. I hope I survive that long without a sprained/strained/spazzy (insert random body part here).
It’s only been 3 days and my thighs are sore (it hurts to walk up even 5 stairs), one ankle is feeling “weird”, and my back is achy (but that’s mostly because it was messed up before anyway). I’d kind of like to do less running stuff and more… whatever else – pushups, maybe? Just to distribute the pain more evenly…
I have never sweated so much in my life.
This is going to be good for me – as long as I don’t injure myself. We are definitely not easing into it slowly.
