It was amazing. It only took less than 15 minutes to complete the whole process.
My green passport is only valid until April 10, 2010. Although it’s 6 months before its expiry, I kind of hurried to have it updated because I don’t want to be hassled with the rush. Also, I wanted to replace my ugly passport photo 2 years ago.
The process:
1. Enlist for appointment at the DFA website.
2. Confirm the appointment date.
3. Give all the requirements to Window 28.
4. Pay to cashier the amount of P950.
5. Go to the e-passport documentation/ picture-taking at the 2nd floor.
6. Redeem the passport 2 weeks after.

I got my passport today. This was one of the original goals I put on my list when I signed up so I’m so happy to finally have it done (at least for another ten years).
:)

I’m assuming this means that I filled out the right form.

I mailed it!
Just waiting to get it back (which should prove that I mailed in the right form) and this will be done, for another 10 years at least.

for both my driver’s license and my passport photo and then get both taken on the same day.
But we were at Walgreens tonight so I got the photos taken even after plane-weirdness and a lack of lip gloss.
But it’s done. We pick up photos tomorrow, hopefully get paperwork done on Tuesday, hopefully mail them on Wednesday…

I can’t believe this relatively easy goal is still taking up space here. This is what I need to do:
Your passport was issued more than 1 year ago
and
Your name has been legally changed due to marriage or court order
You must mail:
Your current, valid U.S. passport
Completed Form DS-82, Application for a U.S. Passport by Mail
Applicable fees
A complete and unaltered photocopy of your marriage certificate or your name change court decree
Two recent, color photographs
to the address listed on Form DS-82 .
I read everything on the page and am convinced this is the correct form. It’s $75. The only thing that is stopping me from sending it in right this second is the photos. Maybe I’ll feel quite proactive today and even stop and get those taken…

Jeez, I’m embarrassed that it’s still on this list. Mini goal: get to walgreens to have new photos taken within one month.

and probably not with the new security everywhere either. My husband doesn’t have one at all, so I think we’re going to take our tax rebate money to get him one and update mine so we can go to mexico on a whim if we really wanted to. Or canada. Or iceland or wherever.
