two new books
i bought two new books on the subject to give my previous conceptions new light. they are the hua hu ching, another work of lao tzu, translated by brian walker, and relax, you’re already home which examines taoist practices and how they can be applied in modern life in the west.
both have already proved to be invaluable and enlightening. i recommend them.

i’ve gone pretty far astray from what i used to believe. i’ve toyed with different belief systems and spiritual practices, but nothing gives me the soul satisfaction as does the tao te ching.
to begin again, i must relearn how to see through taoist eyes. take note of the balance of life, the inexhaustible giving nature of the universe, practices that adhere to the taoist principles… because once things begin to manifest in the physical world, they begin to make manifest in oneself…

hangbok is getting back on this site
This site, (43 Things), is about things I want to do. So, how do I do Tao. I have read the Tao many times. I have over ten books on the subject. I have mastered the idea of the nameless.
The question of Tao as a thing to do. I am not sure this is even a clear “want to do thing”.
So, I will give it some time. I think I might change to something like, read the Tao in Chinese. Write the Tao in Chinese… something like that…..

feel it, back when my intentions were pure. there were some fundamental flaws in my behavior then and now that prevented me from fully experiencing it. the only difference now is that i know the consequences of my actions, for the world and for myself, but i go on doing whatever anyway. but i’m not satisfied with my life. i miss it secretly. i think with some private reflection and a refined lifestyle i may find it again, gradually.
