produce a movie

Kept a drawer of good scripts (believe me it’s a small drawer) from the ones I read as a reader for contests, etc. that have unrepped/unproduced writers. Now I’m contacting these writers and trying to make it happen by building a relationship with them. Might go for a free option and submit it to my connections at various agencies and production companies to see if we can package or sell one or more projects. Incredibly exciting but also a little scary since I’ve not done this before! We’ll see…

I’ve been reading 3 books about producing and marketing. I feel like I’m self-teaching one of the classes that in retrospect I should have taken in college.

I was a communications major in college. I focused in film production, but I really slacked off. I dropped out and haven’t gone back to school. I would love to produce a movie that is in connection with one of my other goals (opening a homeless shelter)...

i love the emotion films generate in you. I love the way you can move someone to tears and then make them laugh. I’ve always been addicted to them. I have so much I want to express and I believe film is probably the perfect medium for it. I will write, direct, animate, shoot, edit and everything else it takes. did i go to film school? no. do i know how to write a screenplay? no. i’ll learn.
