How I did it: joined my local volunteer department and train very day that i had time. You meet great people and get a so much out of it. U respect life and feel great when you help people in need.
Lessons & tips: just go to your local FD and do a RIDE ALONG.. OR even better Take a EMT CLASS it will change your LIFE!!!!

I am also I firefighter, I have been for about 5 years now, Level 1 trained and certified. I am half way through my level 2, I think I’m doin good for an 18 year old.
Hopefully when done high school I am getting my Paramedic degree and become a full time F/F and Medic.

Being a firefighter is awesome. I knew it would be a lot of work but it’s so much fun as well. I’m on a small volunteer fire department in Wisconsin and also work with the DNR in the spring. It’s very rewarding.
