i am registered to walk in Boston’s Light The Night.
this is my second cancer research walk this year but i’m still excited.
my personal goal is $150 but i know i can raise more than that. and i encourage every one to try to either donate (not just to me, to anyone) or register them selves. Light The Night takes place on different days all over the country.
the walk i will be a part of is on october 2nd, i’m a part of the Jack’s Mannequin team and i’m so pumped.

I just signed up for igive.com. When you shop online, the retailers donate a portion to the charity of your choice. So, now my shopping habit will benefit the Ulman Cancer Fund for Young Adults.

It must look awful to show this goal as “given up” because I certainly wish that more people would look at my first entry on this goal and donate either to my page or my team page, but my college Phi Theta Kappa chapter (which is my team for the relay) is participating in the relay regardless of how much money we raise and it will be worthwhile to me no matter what.

I am participating in my local Relay For Life (on May 12-13) to raise money for cancer research. Cancer death rates are on the decline and I would like to do my part to help improve this statistic. I have a very modest minimum fundraising goal of $150, but I would love to exceed it :-) Following is a link to my fundraising page:

Here is a really quick and easy way to donate money to a good cause! go to www.pigsback.com and sign up. Click a few adds, fill in a few questionnaires and you get virtual ‘points’. You can either spend these points on rewards, or donate them to charity. It only takes a few minutes and is a super simple way to help a good cause. I’ve made 3 donations already using this site.

Last year my mum was diagnosed with bowel cancer, and my nan has just passed away she had three different types of cancer and it was too late to be treated. I’ve donated money to CR on a monthly basis ever since I started working full time, about 4 years ago but now I would like to get actively involved somehow. I’ll be looking into this soon.

Next year (2007) marks the 10th year of my mum’s passing. I donate to cancer research monthly but would like to raise funds next year by taking part in a run. I’m utterly hopeless when it comes to sports and exercise, and I’m feeling afraid and panicking somewhat as I write this. But it has been on my mind for a while and I know if I don’t try, I won’t be able to forgive myself. There! Strap on those shoes and start training!

since our ride. I have been distracted doing other things to update this. But we did it – we did the Pan Mass Challenge back in August. It was a tremendous experience. Aaron and I raised nearly $5400 for our ride, and next year we’ll try to raise more. But it’s just a drop in the bucket…. my boss’s father just passed away last week from cancer, and a coworker’s young child is slowly losing his battle. It seems like the list keeps growing. :(
The goal will be back when it’s time to train again.

Dink is trudging thru the internet.
Ran nearly all of 5km around the eden project in cornwall! Man it was hard, and we ran for longer than we have in training :) must of been the other 2000 people running and walking with us :) A brilliant way to spend my 32nd birthday.
Amount raised by me is just under £100 i think… will be collecting soon :) Thanks to all the brill people who supported me on the day and the others who sponsored me.
