start playing my clarinet again

so I played clarinet in high school, was a top clarinet in symphonic band all 4 years and then came to college and decided not to do marching band or concert band, of course since I marched colorguard in high school not playing my clarinet was pretty normal. So I’m about to start my 3rd year of college and I have pretty much stayed away from band people because I knew it would make me miss band, until last semester of my newest friends was in band, and is now the trumpet section leader. Well his talking about band everyday made me miss band sooo much! So now I’ve decided to do marching band this coming fall, not with colorguard, but marching clarinet ahhhh!

what i really want is to play the piano again. i miss it terribly, but there is no piano available to me right now. clarinet cannot replace piano. the love is just not the same.

I’ve lent it to my girlfriend, so I’ll only be able to play it when I’m visiting her at the moment. That’s okay though… I think that will make me play it much more often in fact!

Still no progress, hum… we’ll see.

The woman upstairs banging on the floor put me off a bit, but I’ve no real excuse not to play. Play!

I just don’t see this happening right now. i am about to move into a small apartment complex and I don’t even know if I will have room to mov ethe clarinet with me. It might just wait for me at my parents until I one day follow through on this!

I’ve played it a couple of times recently. The woman upstairs stomped on the floor one time, which kind of put me off a bit. I did enjoy playing again though, so I’ve persevere.

It’s about time. I haven’t played my clarinet in too many years. I didn’t realize how much I missed it.

Last night was the first rehearsal. I was afraid my lips would fall off since I hadn’t been practicing like I’d wanted to, but I made it through the 2-hour session pretty well. I’d forgotten how frequently there are multiple-bar rests in concert band music.

It was fun, and I met some new people. I’m looking forward to next week’s rehearsal.

I bought a new swab and tuner on Thursday. I am very happy to have a tuner that actually fits in my clarinet case (for the first time ever!)

There’s less than a week left until the first rehearsal. I am excited, but a little worried I won’t measure up since I haven’t been in a band for awhile.
