start playing chess again

My sister and I played a few games today. Out of the three we played, I lost two, and the third was a draw. But it was fun anyway.

i bought a magnetic chess game at Starbucks and have been practicing on my own and had the chance to play with a couple friends while camping this last weekend! This is fantastic!

Have nobody to play it with. The only person i know who would be interested in it is someone who might not be interested anymore (and he has changed a bit, lost some hearing and memory). i wish my school had a chess club.

I’m still licking my wounds. It is one thing to lose to someone who you know has a superior ability… quite another to lose to someone who would have trounced if you’d been on your game. God, I’m so rusty with chess. (And the chess I HAVE played in the last few years has been anti-chess… not a good mindset to be in when playing normal chess.) Maybe I should start playing online. (Though I’d have to do correspondence – my internet is so unreliable that I wouldn’t be able to get through an entire game in real time.)

but then I found out that I have a field trip to Seattle for museum/gallery viewing this week when the chess club meets, and next week for Portland museums/galleries at the same time!

Damn it all – the fates are conspiring! Just when I finally found out when/where chess club meets!
