wear a kilt

The Kilt finally came and I’m proud to bear my clan colours…

It’s made me so happy to have…definately the best bit of clothing I have…and do heads turn when I walk by!...just watch yourself if a bus/lorry drives past…Sporran is not something to be forgotten as it keeps the kilt revealing your nether regions when a gust comes along :)

I bought one but its still being shipped from the US so I’m having to wait for it to come!! don’t know how much longer I can take

So I’d been saving my dollars every week (literally) to build up enough coin for the basic Utilikilt. I know I could have bought it, but I wanted to prove to myself I could save up the money for something I really wanted (a 43Things item and a character builder, woohoo!) When the missus saw the bulging pile of singles in my sock drawer, she asked where I was stripping at. No, she asked me what it was for. When I told her it was for a kilt, she left me bruised and bleeding by saying she didn’t think I’d look good in one. WHA?!

I’m 6’1”, 220 pounds with a shaved head and goatee. I’ve got calves like oil cans. I’ve got plenty of snappy rejoinders for people that ask what’s under said kilt. If I don’t already own the kilt look, who does?

So, I’m stuck between using the money on my original goal or blowing the bulk of the cash on the Wii Fit when it finally comes out. Your thoughts?

Got an AmeriKilt in late October, 2006. I LOVE IT! I’ll be buying some more, including some Utilikilts. And a Sgian Dubh.

Really wearing a Kilt is cool in Scotland but dangerous in the outside world, although women (and men) will be magically drawn straight to you and try to chat you up once they get drunk they resort to randomly sneaking up behind you and trying to flick it up. Somewhere in this world there are photos which I need to destroy

Absolutely! Wearing a kilt is great—literally liberating! Think I will trade in my tux for Scottish formal wear ala Sean Connery!

I was at a festival this weekend and the Utilikilts people were there. I decided to go for it—got fitted with a kilt, wore it the rest of the day, even when I stopped at the grocery store on the way home. I felt terrific and think I look great in my kilt!! My wife just looks at me and shakes her head, but I’m wearing it for me not her!!

I have always thought kilts look great. I wore one two years ago as a costume and enjoyed it. I would love to have the self-confidence to wear one in my day to day life. I have visited the Utilikilts website and getting more serious about taking the plunge with one of theirs.

I’ve not worn pants since December 28, 2003 and haven’t looked back.
