I don’t think I have the ability to carry my full weight, but it is fun to sing with friends. I really like singing in a barbershop chorus, because then I can stay on my part with support from people around me. My whole family does four part harmony just for fun. We believe that when people are blood related, the voices blend better for some reason. I have four uncles who have sung together for years and they are just amateurs, but when they sing it is awesome. 6 years ago

I sang a lot in high school – mostly “choral jazz” (a la Manhattan Transfer, etc.). More recently I’ve done barbershop, but found the organizational and competitive scene a little claustrophobic. One idea would be to hook up with three (or four or five) other guys who just dig close harmony, if only to get together once a week or so and sound good. The material would vary – jazz, barber, traditional, funny, serious. Just good times. 6 years ago
