I’ve lived for years in shared houses. It’s cheap but I’d like to have a place of my own. I imagine how nice it’d be not to have to share a kitchen.

well i found a charity (eeekkk i hate that word) that also provides public housing here in brisbane i just looked at their website and holy god in heaven …............. there units are gorgeous.i’m hoping their waiting lists aren’t as long and i will send off my application on monday but i’m not going to hold my breathe.
I went for my public housing interview today. I’m now on the five year waiting list… it seems like such a long, long time. I’m wondering if i’ll ever have a place to call my own. Once you get a public house, you can paint and decorate it how you please, you can also eventually buy the unit if you like and can afford to do so.
I’m just hoping i’ll get lucky and be offered a place asap. Its rare but it can happen.
okay i applied for public housing something i thought i’d never ever do
the city in which i live in has gone through a realestate boom and there is literally no property that hasn’t tripled in value or beyond in the last four years.
As a consequence lower income earners like myself must rent, except there are not enough rentals because i live in a subtropical city and 1000plus families move here every week from colder cities….....
i’m on a waiting list the list is five years long but if i don’t do it, well i may never be able to afford my own place.
on the plus side i may get a place for $50 a week that would rent for at least $250 on the open market okay people lets hops
