I looked at the comments that other people have written to complete this goal, and i learned a few things…
apparently there is a web site where you can get a star for free, and you just print off the certificate. Other sites you have to pay, but you get a certificate and a map, or whatever. But considering i dont have a printer, would probably just pay for one.. but it makes me worry if they are all accurate, i would figure that if you pay for one it would have a better chance, but it could just be a scam. And honestly, I would rather have some one name one after me and give it as a gift, but if I asked then It wouldnt seem like It would count… So I will just buy one, and I decided I would give it to my mom. Shes the most influential person in my life, and would think she would appreciate it the most.

For my boyfriend’s birthday, I named a star for him under his horoscope, Taurus. I was always intro creative gifts and he was jealous I beat him to it ;)

I’m not letting that stop me! I’ve been interested in stars ever since I read the book Dogsbody, which made me see stars and constellations as more than something pretty to look at it in the night sky.
Although it might sound narcisstic, I want to name a star after myself. My self-esteem is incredibly low most of the time, and I think having “my own” star will help remind me that I deserve to shine and that I should honor my individuality.
I found a site that registers star names for free (although you can pay for “extras”), so money isn’t an issue. I just need to get around to doing this.

Jennifer is on her way towards making 2009 a great year!
I bought a star and named it after my sister. She has stuck by me through so much, and I don’t let her know often enough that I love her, so I thought a star would be the perfect way to show her that.

She’d always talked about one day having a star named after her. So I went ahead and bought her one.
it’s up there around the Gemini constilation.

i learned the names of many stars and their locations and the locations of the planets when i was very young. occasionally i’ll look up at the night sky and recognise Mars, or a particular star or constellation, and it makes me very calm for a minute. it’s also fun to point at a bright object in the night sky and say to a friend, that’s Polaris!
