I’ve always wanted a penpal, the concept is just wonderful. I’m just not sure how to go about finding one, to make it more difficult I want to write letters, not e-mail. Any advice?
I miss getting letters in the mail that are not on corporate letterhead. And I miss sitting down and writing instead of trying to type and getting distracted by the web!

ive met some people on the internet who have shared some similar interests with me but its never really been consistent. i wanna find someone who will teach me about their culture and way of life.

Worth doing!
I have several new pen pals since I set this goal, and they are all lovely and divine.

Lost interest in this one…
I travel a lot for work. I’m always online and to be totally honest, it gets lonely from time to time sitting in hotels and airports constantly. I know it sounds lame, but I sacrificed a lot of friendships in order to succeed in my career. I have access to email and chat. Just thought I would throw this out there.

I think that between postcrossing, writing to my sponsored kid, and my boyfriend (who lives across the country), I have enough “pen pals” to keep me happy for now. :)

I rang my sister the other night, and told her I was learning Italian. She was stoked, and said she wanted to learn too! I gave her the website http://www.learnitalianpod.com/category/beginner/page/7/
and told her to start downloading. Then I thought about my goal on 43. I mentioned we could write to each other in Italian, she agreed!
Most unexpectedly found my penpal. But would still be interested in writing to someone who knows the language beyond: my name is, hello, good bye, nice to meet you and yes, I am Australian!
