Well, I did it! My other half gave me an ultimatum and I rose to the challenge. In the space of 3 days we booked a holiday, got on a plane and went to Tenerife. She reckoned that the amount of turbulence we had was the worst she has experienced and she’s been flying 10+ years. I likened it to riding on a very bumpy train and wasn’t too bothered by it. So all this time my fear has been nothing more than me panicing about nothing. Now I have overcome the flying thing I can now start notching up a few more of my goals.
How to fly on an aeroplane!
How I did it: Just bit the bullet and went for it. I was with people who had done it a million times before so they kept their eye on me. But to be fair it was more anxiety than ought else. I just didn't know what to expect. I'm more than happy now to jump on a plane whenever.
Lessons & tips: 90% of it is just fear and anxiety. just take the plunge and you'll wonder what all the fuss was about. The turbulence isn't all that bad. Someone told me its just a part of flying - like hitting ruts in the road. It happens but all it does is make your ride bumpy for a few minutes.
