make more music

Today I just sat behand my piano and figured out the chords for a songs that I like! Then I asked my boyfriend to play along on the guitar, we hit the rhythm button on my keyboard and together came a GREAT song! We were so excied afterwards! Whoooooooooohooooooo! We will practise this song some more and then record it! :o)

Still, I feel it is coming…

picked up my guitar last night and started playing. learned a new song and started to flesh out a song. i need to do something to make my songs sound different from ones ive already written. change tuning on my guitar? different time signature? something. . . going to get some beat making software today. i have enough samples in my mind to make shit sound dope

when i first got my guitar years ago i would sit for hours on end teaching myself to play, now it feels like a piece of furniture in my room. i want to start playing more guitar and actually start making more music.

I got the skills to make my style of music, i got the friends, i got the ideas, i got the equipment, all i gotta do is do it.

We have made gigabytes of jams, attempts, joke-songs and average-demos.

NOW ITS QUALITY TIME!

I currently obsessed with engineering a setup that will allow me to improv/perform my music live. The idea is nearly complete in my mind, and the gear is on the way. Just now I got a bit carried away in SketchUp trying to figure out how to arrange all this stuff in a portable box.

Seem to be spending more time making beats and never finishing them. Maybe its time for a change?

I’ve really been feeling it lately. It’s a good sign when you start to neglect other responsibilities to work on music. I try to avoid GAS as much as possible, but damn my new custom Juno-106 is making things fun again. The simplicity and limitations of the thing are really inspiring.

My music over the past year or longer has been extremely claustrophobic and cerebral – and less fun to actually listen to. I had an epiphany the other night while listening to The Beatles. I’m making music backwards. I should start with a good pop song, and then move on to making it cerebral—not the other way around.

So, I’ve dusted off some of my bouncy chord progressions that I used to be known for. It’s been liberating. Expect some struttin’, drippy pop weirdness to show up soon.

Making music on and off for quite some time, but its been a couple of years now, since i became a father i just dont get time.
