Rhizome on Broadway was a really neat place to have a meet. It was spacious and welcoming and they serviced alcohol!
While I was sipping my wine I read the description on the table and thought “Wow how fitting!”
Heres a snippet of what it said ..
In the botanical sense, a rhizome is a root system that some plants use to spread themselves about. The plant sends shoots up from nodes in the rhizome, creating what look like many separate plants. These seemingly unrelated individuals are actually all connected, through a system that’s not immediately visible to the eye.
Talk about six degrees of separation!

Yay! That was fun… new people and wine and gallivanting children and a sweetly sleeping babyguy. I’ll have to go back for a grilled apple sandwich some time. Rats… I even had a camera in my purse. Next time? Thanks Brandy…

I guess I should get going.
?? every time I try to post a picture… there are dolphins. Not my dolphins… I have no dolphins. What does it all mean? (has anyone else seen these phantom dolphins?)
Just a reminder that the next plan is for Rhizome Cafe THIS WEDNESDAY at 6:30 pm. Come meet new people, or see people you already know, eat some yummy grilled apple and cheese panini, drink some wine, and have a good time…
this Wednesday isn’t going to happen, I don’t think. let’s go for next wednesday, November 1st, 6:30, Rhizome. I’ll be there even if no one else will! :) If anyone wants a ride from UBC, the partywagon is leaving at 5:30…
Okay, I’m just going to throw a day, time, and place out there, and if you can make it, awesome! Wednesday, October 25th, 6-ish pm, Rhizome Cafe (317 East Broadway, at Kingsway). Tell your friends.
I checked out Rhizome Cafe (317 E. Broadway, at Kingsway) tonight, and it’s a pretty awesome place. They just opened shop four months ago. I had a grilled apple sandwich, and believe me—I’m a total carnivore. But this was probably the first time I had a vegetarian sandwich and didn’t miss the meat! Yummy! And they are licensed, so they can cater to all your beverage needs.
So who wants to meet there some time soon? Me, me!
we should try meeting again—maybe at a cafe somewhere? anyone have suggestions?
Abettysgirl and Airos ventured out to Second Beach, and we had fun chatting, watching the sunset, and eating out of super-efficient picnic baskets. Join us for a next adventure, wherever it will be…
