How to ride a mechanical bull

 "i came, i was bucked, i was spun.i get thrown off..i do it every chance i get."
How I did it: i worked at a fair and the guy across the way let me ride hundreds of times over a two week period. he taught me technique and style...since then i have ridden countless bars and fairs... Lessons & tips: your strong hand goes under the rope, palm up. get as far foreward as you can on the bull. my crotch actually its touching my hold hand. your free hand is in the air to allow for balance. squeeze your thighs tightly around the bull, and try to let your upper body be loose. nod to the operator and hold on tight. when the bull head goes down, throw your upper body back. when the bulls head goes up, throw your upper body weight foreward.when you get the hang of that, you can do the same thing with your feet, but in the oppisite direction.try to picture your ass nailed to the bull..a drink or two will help you stay upper body loose...a hat makes the outfit fun, plus it helps some people to hold the hat in their free hand |

I know this is a silly goal, but every year my church gets one for spring celebration and for easter, and every year I’m so busy that by time i’m able to go ride the silly thing they are busy packing up. So this year for spring celebration, i’m doing it. I’ll just dissapear for a few minutes, and everyone will be “Where’d Ant go?” and when I get back I’ll be all “I was here the whole time? What? Its not like I went to go ride the mechanical bull! ;)”
seem this in movies, seen this in bars, always wanted to try it, and now i can say that i have. we had our relay for life event and one of the tents had a mechanical bull. you know that i did this!!!!! it was great. but i paid for it the next day, the inside of my legs were bruised and sore, and i had bruises on my arm from holding the rope. but it was worth it, and i’d do it again. so glad that i can at least i experienced this.
im really going to do for my birthday which is on september, but i cant find a place in nj..

I’ve never thought about doing this, but as I was walking through one of the dining halls on campus with my sister there was one all set up. We each tried it and learned a valuable lesson: do not try to do this if you are wearing sweats/gym pants. It is extremely hard to hold on in those fabrics. It was still fun!

PS same applies to real bulls too only the downs hurt a bit more

it was crazy!! At first the operator made it go really slow and gentle, but then he started making it go fast and rough! I held on for a lot longer than I was expecting. I squeezed it with my legs with all my might. My wrists were a little sore, but it was so much fun!
