After waiting for 6 months after returning from a malaria zone I made an appointment to give blood then got an eye infection which needed quite strong antibiotics. That put me back a few weeks. Then on the next day I could donate a came out with a very attractive cold sore. Then 5 days after that the common cold, which you’re not allowed to donate with. Finally I get to go, in good health, and my iron levels were too low. Again.
This is not laziness, it’s actually a difficult goal for me to complete.

Had to stop a few years ago because my veins were starting to get weak and I started to be a harder stick. It’s worth it for the warm fuzzy you get(and the ice cream sandwich or cookies!)

I didn’t give blood but yesterday I got a new card sent to me from the NHS. I didn’t realise that I had donated that many times.
It made me feel good.
That I made a small difference.

today. It’s one of the things in life that really puts a spring in my step and a smile on my face. Just to know that you are HELPING somebody, somewhere at some ponit in time makes it all worth while!
I’ve become selfish with my blood, or at least my body has…
Every time I go to try to donate I either fail the blood pressure or iron content tests and they turn me away… :(

I really don’t know why some people are too lazy to do this.
I would make it the law that everyone had to donate who could.
A good mate of mine really got my fired up last week when, whilst sat in the pub, he told me he had a very rare blood type, but he didnt donate. So I gave him a mouthful and told him I’d drag his lazy arsedown with me the next time I go. I donated last week and its something so specil when you see the filled up bag and you know that you will be helping someone. A bag of blood is a wonderful gift!!!!
I am never taking this goal off my list.

After the last time I gave blood they didn’t invite me back because of my low haemoglobin. I should have gone to the doctors and got a letter to say I was fine before this but as i’m lazy I didn’t. So this week was the first time I was invited back to a session.
Good news is I gave blood with no problems this time. You can give blood every 16 weeks, so if I have given blood three times by this time next year I will mark this goal as complete.
I have only given blood once before – I was fine at the time, then went shopping and ended up fainting in a towel shop – highly embarrasing. I had to be picked up off the floor by an off duty paramedic. However, that doesn’t mean that I am put off. Giving blood, I think, is one of the most valuable things anyone could do

Given up already, as I went on the 2nd of Jan only to be told my iron was too low and I can’t give again for 12 months without a doctor’s say so. Typical.
