I am 21 and have gone through loads of ideas for what I want to be when I grow up. I can never choose just one…I think I would enjoy beauty school and my career thereafter. Nobody except my boyfriend and one friend are really supporting me here, though :(
How to go to beauty school
How I did it: i went to college for a year for photography, i still love it, but i wanted to stay with something in fashion. so i went to beauty school [NY is 1,000 hours] full time and finished a few weeks after i should have ... towards the end i got bored in clinic and got caught up in drama and didn't want to deal with it, so i went to the lake instead some days. big mistake i payed for later. but i'm glad to finish.
Lessons & tips:
- ask your instructors about where they've worked before and actually pay attention to their horror story places. better to learn from other's mistakes sometimes.
- you will learn SO MUCH MORE after school. they prepare you a lot for the exam, but there's so many styles and different hair types you experience out of school.
- watch other stylists you work with, you tend to pick up a new trick or two
- you won't know exactly what kind of salon you want to work in until you have the experience. whether it's hourly, commision based, or rental ...
- go to as many classes as you can from cosmoprof / A&A beauty supply stores.

Until I graduate high school, and then I will FINALLY be able to move out and go to beauty school! :)
As for now…save, save, save!
Tera is currently working on achieving goals on list
I have one year left to get my certificate in gerontology, then I’m on to beauty school, which is probably what I should have done in the first place, but that’s ok. I can do it now, I know I’ll be good at it and enjoy the work, and plus then I can have my own salon!!! Yay, I’ll be the boss, lol.
I no I can go to beauty school and do a goog job in what I am doing and do it right
Beauty School is the best experiance ive ever had! i think everyone should do it!
I have wanted to go to beauty school since I was a little girl. I would love to learn how to do great manicures/pedicures and cut hair and choose the right make-up. I don’t see any reason why choosing another career should stop me from achieving this goal, too. I just have to figure out how to fit it in (just like everything else).
