The Guilin Flowers Youth Hostel is the best place on Earth. Opposite the train station and down the back. Guilin is very cosmopolitan, beautiful and good access to other places like Yangshou but don’t forget to go to Ping’an for a night or two (the Rice Fields). Beware of locals befriending you to practice English, quite a few harmless scammers – they’ll always lead you to their art gallery. Great town. 5 years ago
