find out who my great-great-great grandfather really was

My Grandfather’s real father left before he was born but his mother remarried also before he was born so he was given the name of her new husband. Ive been told his real father was a man named reynolds but my grandfather died last year so now I cant ask him and my father is not to willing to talk about it. however I want to know.

Hey, I’m looking for the name of my great grandfather.
Probably in France or Belgium. Does anybody know any good websites for this particular search? I live in Australia now.
I thought it would be easy to find his name but I can’t even find my father in any of the searches.

My paternal great-great-great grandfather died when his children were very young, leaving almost no trace of his history.
