Maybe this summer?

i say worth doing. in fact, i moved here in october of 2007… lol! theres so much history. its great.

Well, we finally did it! This weekend me, my mom, my brother, and my boyfriend went out to Philly to see the King Tut Exhibit at the Franklin Institute. Everyone but me seemed a little disappointed that the exhibit didn’t include the actual sarcophegus and funerary mask, but I didn’t mind. I knew they couldn’t take the risk of hauling those treasures across the USA and having them damaged.

Even though we had to leave earlier than expected because I wasn’t feeling well, we did what we went there to do and we all had a good, if exhausting, time.

Last night I made all the arrangements. I secured Mom, Mike, Greg and I two hotel rooms smack dab in the middle of Philadelphia, four Amtrak tickets, and four tickets to see the King Tut exhibit. Not only am I excited that this is actually going to happen, I’m really proud for having made all the arrangements myself.

Oooh, I can’t wait till March, I can’t wait till March :-D

I think this is finally going to happen. Originally, my older brother and I just wanted to go on a day trip to see the King Tut exhibition at the Franklin Institute Science Museum. Now, our mother and my boyfriend are on board as well, and it has turned into a full on weekend visit to Philedelphia! I’ve been put in charge of organizing the entire thing, and right now I’m in the process of finding affordable hotel rooms, reserving tickets to the exhibit, and securing transportation. We’re aiming for one of the weekends in March. This is gonna be some trip!

Philly is really nice…I’m not just saying that cause i live here…well actually i am because that is the character of a philadelphian. we boast and we can be your biggest fan or your worst nightmare….just ask T.O.
But Philly is going to crap nowadays.
1. beautiful 100 year-old houses are just crumbling and the city’s not doing anything to restore them
2. These people do NOT know how to dress so philly will never be the fashion capital of the world.
3. The murder rate is freaking crazy… like we’re in baltimore in the 1990’s
but center city still has it.
1. the food: philly is one of the fattest cities because we’re an eating town! hoagies, scrapple, tastykakes, cheesesteak, cream cheese,italian bakeries…YAY!!!
2. the history: im not a big fan of american history, but i work near the liberty bell, the constitution center and independence hall. and people love those tours.
3.L-O-V-E: even though the murder rate is up, i still feel the brotherly love. people helping each other out…saying good morning, small conversations… can’t get that in NY (no offense).

Went to Philly. . by way of West Philly. . .but. .ended up in University City for lunch. Nice time. :D Finally, something to cross off the list!

I live 20 minutes from the city and I can say, I have never really BEEN in the city on my own. Went once to meet a friend at Temple U and a few times for class trips – but never on my own to actually take in and enjoy the history of my own city!

AHH!

Philly is…..Huge. I though my hometown was big, this was completely crazy. There is a lot of grafitti but I always had one of my guy friends I felt safe around with me where ever i went. I would say it was worth it but don’t plan on driving!

Good News – Tomorrow I am going there for a school trip!
Bad News- I have to get up at 4 am to catch the plane
