This is truly never done, but I reach walls and then sometimes get over them with new information. I’ve also visited hometowns and graveyards. It’s nice to know where you come from, and it adds to my love of history.

Even if I can just add the people who have been born since I last worked on it, it would be great, but even better if I can do more research into our ancestory.

I’ve traced it back though one last name. I’m going from me to the 21st governer of Michigan, it’s hard filling in the middle.

Still working on the sources. I’ve got to the complicated branch of my family.

They come from a small fishing village in North East Scotland and all the families are inter-related ie brothers from one family marry sisters from another.

I’ve got so many sources to enter and I’ve discovered more connections so I have to input more details and more sources AAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!!

Restarting my family tree goal 20 months ago

I’ve started working on sourcing my family tree again. I’ll see if I can finish over the Easter weekend.

The trouble is one branch of my tree is enormous with too many offshoots and its very complicated. I’ll have to do some digging to see where I got all the information from originally.

Wish me luck!

I have sort of done this already, but I could only go as far back as 1860 on either side of the family – I am suprised to have discovered that in 1860 we were related to the famous Grant brothers Hugh + Richard E’s as distant relations… I think they were my great great grandparents, cousins children descendants if I remember correctly? Whatever, I do know that my side of the family were the owners of the whole of Mill Hill and part of Burnt Oak during this time. The Grant side of the family had a dispute with my side of the family and went their seperate ways apparantly.
They are not the only famous people in my tree either, closer in relation is Terence Stamp who is my fathers cousin, and Roy Hudd who is my grandmothers cousin.
I’d like to know more about the family, as theres some people in the last 60yrs missing from the family tree and to go as far back as possible, as my grandmother has some proof that we are from royal heritage (Germany and Romania mostly) its just I need to make a little more effort to sit with her and question her about the other relatives.
