One Fast Move Or I'm Gone 1 week ago

My husband and I live in South Mississippi, but would never admit it. This area is condemned with lack of education and culture. We do try to make the best of it- it is our hometown- however, we need to be around life.

Austin seems like the perfect place for two vegan poets. I know it is home.

you know 2 months ago

I spent a week and a half in Austin and I realized something. It’s FUCKING HOT.

ive got to figure out how to do this 5 months ago

I’m drawn to Austin. I have no savings right now and no idea how I would do it, but I need to. I’m looking at getting laid-off from my job in the next few months, and I will get a reasonable severance check. With that, I will pick up and move. Does anyone have advice about the job market in Austin – I’m in the corporate world now, but I’m willing to scrub toilets if it means I can live in Austin… Is South Austin really the best place to be in terms of art and the kind of liberal feel? I’ve visited the city several times, but I definitely do not know the ins and outs. And I’m no longer in a place in life where I think the senior citizens area where my great uncle used to live is cool, and I’ve grown a bit too old for just the UT type of life… Thoughts? And how easy is it to find an apartment?

I'm not giving up 5 months ago

But I have to admit it seems far far away.
I haven’t been able to save or at least have some income. I have been wondering if I should get a real paid job in a company somewhere and I just re-think to myself and come to the same conclussion: I love what I do.
Maybe, we’ll just have to wait a little bit longer.

I really need to move to Austin 5 months ago

Why? Because it’s been my dream for like a year! I think there is a lot of creative and wonderful people to meet, and OMG the life quality!!! I really think that I would become the producer I have been dreaming about and earning the big bucks! So, I really want to move to Austin to have my own apartment and let my family and friends visit me when they go shopping. I think that I would be very very happy in Austin and I know that living there will help me accomplish many of my goals.

New Year's Resolution 5 months ago

I can’t wait to do this! I deff need to save up some $$. Also I need to create a budget since I will be living on my own for the first time and will be paying for a LOT more than i do now (rent, car insurance, food, gas, water, etc.) :/

also i need to plan a short trip down there (3-7 days im thinking)

i deff need to find a job too.

hopefully i will have enough saved up in the next 6 months

The time has come, the time has come, to get away from Austin.

Ahh, dearest Austin. My sweet city on the Colorado. We’ve had our ups and downs, but you’ll always be my ‘home’.
