geogal is on a roll!
I’m going to count this as done. I’m still not super consistent, but I can roll in a pool, so mission accomplished.

I got it tonight. Lots of times. Woohooooo. I’m going to have to miss the class next week, but the week after…........here I come!
geogal is on a roll!
O.K. I’m going to my fourth session tonight. I’ve had two good sessions and one bad one. I’m determined to get it down tonight.
This is my mantra for tonight:
“My head should be the last thing out of the water.”
I repeat, “My head should be the last thing out of the water.”
One more time: “My head should be the last thing out of the water.”
Focus.

bad roll session tonight. i’m really disappointed. i’ve somehow managed to lose it.
they say it comes and goes at the beginning. but that’s not good enough for me.
next week….............
geogal is on a roll!
So, I went to another roll session on Friday and I think it’s safe to say that I can officially roll a kayak. My consistency is a little off, but by the end of the night I was nailing most of my rolls. Now, they weren’t always that pretty, so I really need to work on my form.
I’m going again next week. If that goes well I’m going to mark this goal as accomplished. Then, I’ll add a goal about rolling in a real-life situation!
Intimidation is right. I’ve been to three session so far and have managed to pretty much do it myself only during the second session. I think I’ve hit my plateau. I definitely wouldn’t be able to do it if i capsized in the ocean.
So I’m curious, what are everyones reasons for wanting to learn to roll a kayak?
