so I found this disgusting fake wood finished dresser for free on craigslist… I thought I was going to be painting tonight, but I came up with a plan how to redo the dresser instead, and with the help of my boyfriend holding the screen in place, I finished this project in like 3 or 4 hours! Now I finally have a dresser (after moving 7 months ago!) WOw, I realized how much I want to do more projects like this, recycled and functional!
Art makes me happy. Lately I have been realizing how comforting it is to me. There is something really special about finishing a piece especially if you really like it. Then you are like “WOW I just did that…cool!”

I was actually feeling very pensive when I did this one but it’s difficult to see that in the results, isn’t it?

I made some retarded v-day cards for my single friends. I’m so bad at constructing things irl (in real life) and without photoshop, but it felt good anyway to get some creativity working.

Coptic Binding class I took February 8. It was fun to learn. I am going to make more.

I purchased materials and tools for my bookbinding class on Sunday. I’ll be attending the Coptic Bookbinding class at the Center for the Book. I’m excited to learn this.
I like books and thought if I at least learn one type of binding I’ll be all set to make a few custom made work that I can sell online or whatever. I like the traditional one that does use less or no adhesive at all.
I am great at daily drawing, hence marking “draw daily” complete. I would like to start making some larger, stand alone pieces not in a sketchbook. Things that I could maybe frame or sell.
funki_sock_munki is trying to figure out life, the universe & everything
This week I’ve finished one painting and did an illustration for the header of a newly created blog. My new goal is to try and produce one piece of art each day, no matter how big or small, or what medium it’s in… do something creative each day. I’m feeling good about this goal, and it’s feels attainable.
