And of course totally by accident and unexpected :)

But it forces you out of your comfort zone. As long as you have tools to make the best out of it you can, it can be a growth experience :)

For someone with thick, sometimes coarse, wilful, frizzy erratic hair, this means a hair-dryer, straightening tongs, and bobby-pins galore. I’m hopeless with hair product, so I just will it into the least boof I can manage. But I love having it shorter whether it ‘suits’ me or not. Long hair drives me bananas!

I had this happen to me in beauty school. Glad its only hair.

I had been growing my hair quite far down my back for several months. I love long hair, but I have limited energy and taking care of all that hair was just too draining.

Last week, I went to get most of it cut off. Originally I was going for shoulder-length but by the time we were done, I had a chin-length bob. I actually like it! Much easier to care for, and it feels kinda “sporty”.

I was 12, and had hair a little past the shoulders. I told the hairdresser to cut it shoulder-length, but she gave me a super-short bob. The next day, kids made fun of it.

It felt great! It was a little traumatic at first because I was so used to having long hair, but I loved it. There is something so freeing/therapeutic about getting a haircut..especially a major haircut. Change is good.

Ugh, gross. I look like a Beatle. Don’t get me wrong. Awesome band, bad haircut.

My dad was giving me a cut with a #1 guard. He cleaned up my neck a bit, and then took a HUGE stripe out of the top of my head. It looked kinda like a reverse mohawk, and I think I was pretty mad at him, but my hair grows fast, so whatever.

Looking back, it was kinda funny actually.
