Iv recently started taking a MultiVitamin, a MultiMineral and a PhytoNutrient. I have also started working out in my spare time, although i cant afford equipment. I would like to start lifting weights and eating healthier.
How to become a healthier person
How I did it: Ok I was well over 100 pounds over weight a few years back and one day I looked in the mirror and realized EWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW if I hate what I look like and my health is the cause then what can I do! I was not and am not an over eater. Instead I have a hormone imbalance that causes all kinds of weight gain and metabolism issues. Needless to say diets dont work and exercise is not the key! I am currently 128 pounds and did it with out starving my self, throwing up, giving up favorite foods, or exercising obsessively. Here was my trick I for 1 week continued to eat as I always did but I wrote it all down. At the end of the week I looked up all the calories on line and in books. Believe me it was not pretty. My portions were ok but the calorie intake was outrageous. So I took that amount and cut it in half which mind you was alot and for 1 month I ate half of my regular calorie intake for the week. I really only lost about 5 LBS but it was something. Then I started doing it by the day instead of by the week. I dont exercise much so I dont need as many calories. I started with 1500 a day. I started to lose weight. After a few moths I lost over 50 LBS, however I got stuck. I cut it to 1000 which I am not recommending unless you talk to a doctor and began taking B12! Let me tell you something! I have maintained the weight I am now for almost 1 year! It is hard but worth it. Believing I was beautiful and encouraging myself became part of my life. I took a picture of me that was awful when I looked my worst and until I believed I was beautiful and worth changing to be a better person it hung on my mirror! I saw it everyday! I will always be careful about my weight but I still eat Mc Donald's and I still eat Ice-cream. Here is the trick...... learn to eat 1/2. Oh and my favorite of all tricks that actually works. Cheat day! One day of the seven don't watch your calories! Over time you will notice that even on the cheat days you don't want or eat things you shouldn't.
Lessons & tips: If you have a medical reason for gaining weight you are not at a loss. You can lose weight! I did! You dont need a diet or pills or surgery. You need organization, balance, and determination. I would love to talk to anyone struggling with this. It is mostly mental for me and I love support but giving it reminds me to believe in myself too!

I’ve found an exercise buddy and we’ve been going running and to the gym together! I think this is a great start to becoming a healthier person and if we can keep it up, I should soon be crossing this off of my list!
you know. gotta move around more, lose some weight, eat healthier, drink more water. yaah =D
When I am craving something sweet, instead of reaching for chocolate, I’m programming myself to crave green grapes. When I am craving something salty, instead of reaching for a bag of chips, I find myself craving Triscuits crackers instead. It’s not the best, but it’s getting better.
My travel buddy informed me last night that there’s this bike trail that goes from the NB/Maine border all the way to Key West, and he seems to think that after our trip to the Rockies, we should do this. Umm, pretty sure I haven’t rode a bike since it became mandatory to wear a helmet… Which was like what? 10 years ago? I guess I’ll have to start getting into better shape. That’s going to be rough!
