remember people's birthdays

I don’t think I’m ever going to be able to do this. People are used to it by now at least, and aren’t mad when their card is inevitably belated.

All my life I have left people feeling vaguely insulted when I forgot their birthday.

Now I have a list of birthdays and a collection of cards though – I feel good about this.

I’ve purchased a fab birthday book, sent emails to all my friends asking them to remind me (again…) of when their birthdays are and written them into the book. The first one from now is coming up in mid October so I will get myself organised to send them a card.

So…although I haven’t actually remembered anyone’s birthday yet, I’m saying this is done because I have faith in myself that I will now that I’m all organised.

Today I bought a very cool birthday book. I know it is soooooo last year recording things in books, but I loved it and I like carrying it around with me, so, so be it. I emailed all my friends and asked them when their birthday is. So I guess the next step is referring to the book and making an effort on their birthday. Once I have done this for the next three birthdays that are coming up, I think I will tick this one off and make a promise with myself that I will continue doing it.

This is going well… and definitely worth it. Definitely.

Facebook is really good for birthdays… it tells you when your friends’ birthdays are well in advance.

I’ve truly changed my ways and have made a sincere effort to remember people’s birthdays. Putting it on a calendar and setting the reminder a day or 2 in advance on my phone helps! I will re-open the goal if I feel it slipping but calling it done for now!
