it was in Ithaca, NY and the meter maid was coming down this street. I noticed that almost all of the cars on this hill had no money in their meters. I got up to the meter maid and paid the one in front of her. she smiled, stopped and turned around and said she wouldn’t give tickets to the rest of the street.

And I felt just a little light of kindness in me. I did it while I was in downtown with my cousin who was running an errand. I parked my car, put in a quarter and started walking towards the building when I noticed the parking meter next to us was expired. I just felt bad that they could get a ticket, so I put in another quarter. My cousin got peeved, saying no one would ever do that for me. But I told her “What goes around, comes around!” It’s always nice to do nice things for others, especially anonymously. Besides, you never know when you might need a quarter!

Doing a small anonymous kindness from time to time makes me feel good. Sometimes a nickle is the difference in ticket vs. no ticket.

and when we parked by the meters i noticecd the person next to us had just a few minutes left so i dropped in some coins :)

home of the 2 cent minute. Parking meters in downtown charge 25 cents for 12 minutes with a 2 hour max. It feels so good to walk down the street with a few bucks in quarters and keep the meter maids from their ticket quotas.
