I was going to bed early and then was waking up during the night. I thing 8 hours is a bit long for me. Need to be tired before going to sleep, so will change the goal to 7+

How I did it: By deciding that my recovery and my health are paramount. As an emergency medicine resident, if I don't have my health, I have nothing. My busy months, with about 100 hours per week spent working, did not allow me to get 7 to 8 hours sleep (which is what I get now), and I got quite ill. I have been at least 20 minutes late for bed almost every day. And didn’t get very good sleep. I am setting a target of starting shower at 9:30pm.

And as much as I’ve tried, I think right now whilst there’s nothing to really wake up for, I shouldn’t push too hard. Granted I shouldn’t be sleeping as long as I am, but 7 hours of sleep isn’t much.

So they say, anyway. But recently me and my boyfriend have been going to bed after 12am, and waking up around 10-11am, which is way more sleep than you need. Besides, too much sleep makes you feel sluggish and unable to perform tasks. Also, when we wake up at these times, it feels like half the day is gone already.

I have to sleep at least 7 hours every night. I have to do it to be healthy… I hope it will help me.
It means I’ll have to go to sleep at about 11 pm.

be more boring?
as long as I make a good faith effort to be in bed before 11 pm, my body seems to be doing this for me. even when I set an alarm to wake up before 6, I end up sleeping 7 hours.

by sleeping through my alarm. will try tonight to sleep early instead. the fact that pitch darkness is coming on mighty early (7 pm) seems to help.
and got over 7 hours of sleep. Longest sleep in weeks.
Starting the vegetable garden, plus taking care of the dog means I’ve been waking up super early to walk the dog and water the plants. But failing to make it up on the nighttime end has been taking its toll.
Watching the 8 pm Daily Show instead of the 11 pm helps. Wait a sec, I’m supposed to be watching less tv, not the same amount at an earlier time…
at work, during lunch. It was grand! completely refreshing and helpful for continuing the day.
