Sparkling pearls are a result of work, and flossing’s part of that. This month, I’ll be working on flossing every night. It’ll be a habit soon. (But first I gotta go buy some floss!)
How to floss every night
How I did it: I'd tried loose floss on that spool thing. That didn't work, too difficult, too awkward. If I was going to do this on a nightly basis, it was going to have to be easier. So I got those floss picks. They have a string of floss tied between two points, with a sharp pick on the end. Makes it pretty easy to floss that way. At first, my gums bled quite a bit, it hurt and was really uncomfortable, and things seemed to get worse before they got better. After two weeks, my gums became a light pink, the gum line grew tight to my teeth and I swear my mouth just looks cleaner. And I don't get those painful infections and swellings along the gum line anymore from some piece of rotting food against my flesh.
Lessons & tips: The more plaque and bacteria in your mouth, the more plaque and bacteria in your blood stream. This makes you more prone to heart attacks. That's a bit spooky. And, I want to keep my teeth! I don't want dentures or bridges or whatever else you get when your teeth rot out! I remember seeing my grampa's teeth in the glass by the bed, and I just cannot imagine what that must be like, nor do I want to find out. I also remember on occasion they would come loose and fly out of his mouth when he was mad. Who wants that?!
Resources: floss picks, ftw
EDIT: Oral-B Floss Picks with Texture Slide, blue package. I've tried several brands and these are the best!

Well It started with bleaching my teeth, that made me like them more. Then I got a tonge scraper (ayurveda says you should do this every morning) Now I’ve been flossing every night befor bed.Hope i keep it up!! Feels great!!
So for a few weeks I was flossing almost every night, but now it’s all going downhill. I went on a 10 day trip to New Orleans and stayed in a floss-less house, and of course I forgot to bring mine. For the last 2 nights that I’ve been home, I’ve flossed… that is, until my hand accidentally knocked my roll of floss into the toilet. If my bank account weren’t in the negative, I’d buy more.
It’s amazing how much healthier you feel when your mouth is clean. I’ve made it a point to floss once daily for some time now {usually before bed}, and I just feel better knowing my teeth aren’t nasty. It definitely extends that “from the dentist” clean feeling, too! It takes more time than just brushing would, of course, but it’s worth it. Don’t be lazy – definitely do this!
