Watch a martial arts film and enjoy it

The cinematography, costumes and settings were superb. The story wasn’t too complex but had enough twists to keep me wondering what the truth would really be. Not too long either. I’ll watch another.

I watched a dubbed version so I could watch it without having to keep my eye on the subtitles. I personally found this better than a subtitled film where you want to look in two places at once.

I’ve seen two Jet Li films now (Fearless at the cinema last year) and he dies in them both! Does he ever survive to the end or is it always honourable to die?

It’s been seriously recommended to me by both hubby and brother, former tai chi teacher and about 20+ people on AllConsuming.

Hubby is looking forward to seeing it again and can have it if I don’t like it. Hope I will.

Not sure when I’ll have time but I’ll see another and another until I find the sub-genre that suits me.

Hubby is not so fussy and will watch a lot of martial arts films given the time.

Kung Fu Hustle counts as a martial arts film right? It must, I mean, it’s got “Kung Fu” right there in the title! But I don’t think it’s a typical martial arts movie; it was silly-funny, slapstick/cartoony sort of stuff, which was really not at all what I’d expected. I enjoyed it immensely, and I’d watch it again.

Fearless was a more my thing than Jackie Chan’s comedy style of martial arts. I don’t generally enjoy violent films but study tai chi and want to find good films that make me appreciate the faster form of what I do.
Perhaps I’m really after an oriental film with martial arts in?

I’ve not enjoyed any martial arts films I’ve seen before but I’ve been studying tai chi since January – now up to 3 hours per week – and my hubby thinks I’ll appreciate one now.

Seen Jackie Chan films before but they didn’t do anything for me. Hope Jet Li is what I need. Will see.
