AmazingkaeI've seen Rollins a few times... he's on my list of inspirational heros!

If I had half the energy of this guy, I could independently power a large city for years to come. He writes, he records, he travels, he acts, he performs with routine enthisiasm, he hosts his own talk show on the independent film chanel… the list just keeps going. Henry Rollins embodies the lifestyle of a true Renaissance man.

As for catching him on tour doing his spoken word performances, do it. He rants and tyrades poignantly, makes you laugh, and knows the exact right moment to add explicatives into a “luddite-esque” infused vocabulary that would make Encarta editors smile and nod approvingly. Though Rollins appears to fully utilize every modern means of transmitting his messages effectively, there is still a primal scream involved in everything he touches. He is nothing less than a logical animal.

His lifestyle is hard core… in the most positive of senses. He has a great website, too, and gets behind some pretty interesting causes and movements. Artistically speaking, he has some great recommendations for bands as well (we like to catch him late at night on the film chanel). Everything he does is infused with passion and integrity.

Cheers for Rollins, a cultural icon and hero. His candor is a pocket of fresh air for those of us who like to speak our peace. In a polluted world, Rollins is life affirming. Take him in and he’ll refresh your soul.
