Have the program, have 2 tutorial books, the entire web at my disposal…no excuse not to do it…i might want to pursue it as a career, but i have no idea what its like…thats sad…

A few years ago I decided to switch from Max to Maya (I was already loving 3D) and it was my best move! At first the UI of Maya was intimidating, but after a while I got the hang of it. I also did a lot of character modeling and haging out at CGI fora like www.cgtalk.com or www.3dbuzz.com learning a lot from others.
If you like to create things (like characters, cars, environments) then learn Maya, it’s fun! But don’t give up, it is HARD in the beginning and still hard if you are more advanced. But worth it! :)
Right now I want to do more learning of Maya. Currently I’m a Flash designer, but in time I want to do 3D as work! This is what I have so far… still n00b… :P

Good luck guys!
Well, maybe “Learn Maya better” is a more apt description but that’s just not very succinct. In any case, I guess this is also symbolic of my desire to learn to animate with any tool. Software, marionettes or handrawn, no medium should be off limits or serve as a barrier to actualize any vision in my head.
I learned much , but I have lost my interest in this field
so long and farewell !\
Well, I love editing and I’ve been learning After Effects for some time. But there’s something I’m really really bad at! And that is 3d!!! So I’d love to learn this… I’ll try my best, haha.
Any tips for a total beginner?
Okay, so I have my associates degree in Computer art & design. Basically, there were several programs I learned (Flash, Maya, Dreamweaver, Illustrator, and Photoshop (well I knew Photoshop before college!)I’m happy I did this for myself, I mean you see the movies and watch the special features and you’re drawn to it like, “I want to do that, too!” I’m happy I went after it and graduated. I don’t particurarly think I’m meant for this field nor do I want to do it anymore. :) My goals have changed, I’m just glad I won’t have regrets in not, “trying.” I’m especially glad to be working in my field of study (graphics/photoshop & illustrator usage) and that makes me happy. I feel furfilled. :-D
