I bought a set of mahjong but don’t know how to play it. I always want to learn but nobody I know can teach me.

How I did it: is all I can say, my cousin got one for his birthday once, by the time I was staying at his house and i got addicted to it, you don't get stressed, it's relaxing and you gain lots of concentration. Highly recommended! Read how I did it…

learned American rules. Quite fun. Very complicated. Will take time to learn the strategy. Still want to learn Chinese rules too so I will keep this goal up till then. But a good time was had by all. I think games are a great way to spend time with people.

My friend BW is going to teach me how to play tomorrow night! Yay.
This would be a great way to have fun, socialize and train my mind. Currently, my game play is downright pathetic and I am more of a hinderance to the other players at the table.
We had some great games of Mah Jong tonight. Some rules took a little while to register while other things I remembered from when my parents played when I was about 5 years old!
It was fun and it will probably become a regular thing now.
A plan has been set to have a mahjong evening with my husband, dad and my dad’s good friend (and former mahjong mate).
Would you believe my dad actually taught mahjong adult ed classes?!
I didn’t realise. Sounds ideal.

I now play with a group of older gals (including my mother, my high school speech coach, my old girl scout leader and another former teacher of mine, among others)whenever I make it home for a visit. It’s a fun and sociable game that still keeps you sharp. We don’t play for money or bet, but it’s still interesting. I’d recommend it to absolutely anyone as an enjoyable pastime!

seems like a good one to add as part of my general intention to learn more about Chinese culture.
I have fond memories of my parents having ‘mahjong nights’ with their friends. They used to let me ‘play’ along sometimes – I would have been about 5 years old. I think they both still have a mahjong set so hopefully I can borrow one while I learn.
