How to get my full drivers license by Be Bard

"After six years of driving on a restricted license, doing another driving test highlighted some issues."

How I did it: After having failed before for turning up with an empty tank, I was a bit better organised, though my friend had to wait outside while i was doing the test since I was using a flat deck ute with a ATV tied on the back. I just kept calm and the guy I had was pretty easy going. Just take on the things he tries to tell you rather than responding immediately with an excuse like "I don't normally drive like that!" Peace out.

Lessons & tips: Get your full as quickly as you can, but be sure you have the skills and experience to live up to what is expected from you from other people in traffic.

    A few months ago I planned a two week roadtrip through Australia, so I needed a full New Zealand drivers license.
    So I booked and turned up with a full tank and passed.

    I passed!! I was so nervous when we started the test, but the guy was nice and I think he knew I was really anxious so he kept me talking about irrelevant things to take my mind off of it. I didn’t have to parallel park which was awesome. All I had to do was reverse into a parking spot, which I managed to do nicely. Other than that I just made sure I shoulder-checked like crazy for everything. It feels so good to cross this off as done, because I’ve had a restricted license for tooo long. Woohoo!

    Finally made an appointment for this. It won’t be until the end of May, which was the earliest openings that they had. But that’s ok, it will give me some time to prepare. Maybe I should practice some parallel parking…. ughhh

    I want to start working on this goal this week. My first step is to call and make an appointment for a roadtest. Even the thought of this makes me really anxious, but I know I’m a good driver so I’m pretty sure I’ll do fine and pass. If not, then I just gotta keep trying til I’m successful.

    I’ve been driving for a long time with my restricted license. I won’t say how long because that would be embarrassing, but it’s just been TOO long. I guess I kinda put this on the backburner and left it there for a few years. So I need to book an appointment for a roadtest…

    8 feb I will be doing the practical test, if I pass I will have my full vehicle license.
    I’ve already become more accustomed to using my mirrors.
    There are just a few give way rules I need to have another look at.
