I’ve decided to do this just recently. I’d go to Oregon and then back home in a couple of days. My best friend said I should take her so I don’t get bored, but the purpose of doing this is getting away from everyone and figure things out for myself, my brother suggested that I should fly, but I couldn’t take pictures if I did that.
How to take a train.
How I did it: I took a train into London one morning from Croydon, where my hotel was. The next day, I took the Eurostar to Paris.
If subway trains count, I used those trains a LOT in London and Paris.

I took the Eurostar from London, England into Paris, France in July ‘06 sitting first class, so obviously, this was just no average train ride, but it was beautiful and relaxing none-the-less. Sipping endless wine and eating gourmet food watching the scenerey fly by, and then suddenly dissapearing miles below the sky under the English Channel. It was wonderful, and I’d do it again in a heartbeat.
Lissi is not looking forward to today
and you meet some interesting people. I have taken a train many times. Usually between Los Angeles and San Diego. In fact, I’m doing it again on Wednesday. It takes longer then a car ride, but there’s no stress (on your part) and you can sleep or read the whole way. I love to stretch out with a good book, a light jacket (or blanket – since the train can be cold) and my mp3 player.
