make a mojito

(fuelled probably by the excitement or the effect of the Drowned Rat Soda) of the perfect evening of art and mojitos. When the time came for me to taste my perfect mojito, I found a gritty bed of undissolved sugar at the bottom of the glass…and really, really liked it. Oh bourgeoise Rat!

Musings from Rat, who was extra-diligent about work deadlines and the like:

There is an image at the back of my mind, of a street painter self-indulgently muddling a Mojito at the cusp of an outdoor cafe Sunday afternoon. I am in sunglasses, he in an insouciant smile. I walk by, a faint trail of mint following, thinking ‘Will I be free to paint like that, to grin, to radiate, to be emanating attitude and boldness and grace, all with a simple gesture?’

What Drink Are You? asked the quiz. Take the quiz and find out. I took the quiz. The answer was: You Are A Mojito. I texted my friend. I AM A MOJITO, I said. DO I LOOK LIKE A MOJITO?
She replied: WELL, YES!

Ordered a pre-birthday mojito at a cafe. The one I make won’t taste exactly like this; Rat Under Paper tends to like mixed beverages on the sweeter side.
This isn’t necessarily a vulgar taste, perhaps a little provincial.

But I have all this mint growing in my yard, and what better use than a cocktail?

Saw tonight a recipe for….mojito cupcakes. Would making these still count as a mojito?
