i want to travel around the world but im too yong

See every continent on Earth, drive from San Fran to NYC, travel from Mumbai to Nepal to Hong Kong and everywhere in between, take a boat and explore Thailand, get lost in Tokyo, bus it from Lima to Santiago, kick back in Rio and finish up in Pretoria for the World Cup, 2010.

Sounds do-able, right? :D

Myself and my girlfriend are planning to do this trip. We plan to leave feb 2009 after my girlfriend finishes her phd. We are from Ireland and have seen alot of Europe so we are skipping europe and heading to India then heading east to nepal, tibet china, Japan, thailand, vietnam, cambodia, australia, new zealand, argentina, peru, brazil and bolivaia. This a rough plan of the places we want to see. We have a year to this. We dont know if this is too short a time. We plan to bring 60k euro with us for the year which is roughly 90k dollars for all the americans. This may be too much money but we want to ensure that we can do everything we want to. A once in a lifetime trip.

a longtime dream of mine. now, itz just a matter of coming up with the dough to do it.

This is something i must do in a near future… Scenting all world evolving and embracing me, from one continent to another, a big trip, but at the same time, as plain and simple as a short walk across the street…

I’m finishing the phd in august. I have the cash saved ( i think). and I have no job holding me back. I’m psyched. and I have a free first class ticket to china and hongkong ( august 10-28)- That’s my starting point- Then to elsewhere in asia: thailand, vietnam, laos, cambodia, india, tibet, napal, bangledesh…) Hopefully, then Africa (anyone know of a reputable tour company? safe for a little blond american?). I have a friend doing a post-doc in jerusalen.. Havn’t thought much farther. eastern europe, egypt, then south america? hmmm.. any recommendations? If you have done this before—I would love to hear from you—especially advice about logistics, budgetting etc… did u get lonely? I have travelled alone before, but only for a month or 2—I’m planning on 4-6 months.

my life should have risk. I like to see diferent people in the world ,this is my vision :) I’m very headstrong in this way.

IM GOING TO THE BAHAMAS IN APRIL FOR 3 DAYS, IM TAKING MY SON WITH ME TO PARADISE ISLAND, WE HAVE A LIST OF EXCITING THINGS TO DO. HE MADE HONOR ROLE AGAIN SO I PROMISED HIM A TRIP TO PARADISE.

This would just be awesome. Even if you had to do the backpack thing, take trains and stuff, since that’s the only way I could ever afford it. However, it’s hard to find someone that would want to go with you, and it would be pretty lonely by yourself.
